Computational & Systems Biology / Big-Data Bioinformatics Lab

Computational modeling and predictive systems for understanding complex cellular metabolism.

Guide: Prof. Pritish Kumar Varadwaj Email: pritish@iiita.ac.in Phone: +91-9415264599

Lab vision / work: The Systems Biology (SysBio) Lab focuses on interdisciplinary research aimed at understanding the complex interactions within biological systems. The lab investigates the structure and function of proteins through deterministic motif discovery using statistical learning approaches, ligand binding site prediction based on geometrical constraints, and graph-theoretic methods for pattern discovery in biological sequences. In parallel, the lab develops computational models and prediction systems to understand and simulate cellular metabolic processes. The group has developed multiple online tools and web servers such as Deeplnc and DeepInteract, along with large-scale search databases and software platforms including Pharmadoop, DUSR, and CEMDB. The lab is equipped with high-performance computational infrastructure along with a modest wet-lab setup to support integrated systems biology studies with the overarching goal of deciphering the complexity and intricacy of biological organization.
