Workshop on Frontiers in Quantum Information and Technologies (FQIT) 2026

About the Program

The 2-Year (4-Semester) M.Tech Program in Quantum Information & Technologies (QIT) is a multidisciplinary program designed to create skilled professionals for the emerging quantum ecosystem.

Program Objectives (POs):

  • To foster a skilled workforce through lectures, training, and research to meet the growing demand for expertise in quantum fields.
  • To create future-ready manpower who will be able to contribute congruously to the goals set by the National Quantum Mission.
  • To develop an industry-ready workforce in the area of quantum computing and technologies.
  • To promote the transition from theoretical concepts and prototypes to commercial, real-world quantum technologies in sectors like finance, healthcare, and defense.

Expected Outcome of the program:

  • The students would get enough training in the areas of quantum computation, quantum information, quantum materials and devices, and other information technologies so that they can choose a definite career path.
  • The students nurtured through this course will become part of a future-ready workforce equipped to harness the potential of emerging quantum technologies, which is a major goal of NQM.
  • The learners would be getting enough computational and technical skills so that at the exit point, they have the option to find a job in the industry, the corporate sector, as well as in R & D labs, etc
  • Further, if one is interested in specializing in any of the broad fields or willing to do research in quantum technologies and allied areas, she/he would get enough opportunity for that.
