The mathematics unit is running under the Department of Applied Sciences and provides an outstanding teaching and research environment for its students to thrive in a variety of academic and industrial fields. The unit is active in several areas of research including Algebra, Number Theory, Functional Analysis, Fractal Geometry, Combinatorial Topology, Graph Theory, and Statistics. The unit has started Ph.D. program in 2017. Since then, a commendable number of Ph.D. students have been produced who are currently serving in reputed academic institutions and contributing significantly to the advancement of mathematical knowledge. The unit is also planning to start some new programs such as 2 years M.Sc., 5 years B.Tech-M.Tech in Math & Computing.
